U.S. and key countries announce Mineral Security Partnership

Minerals Security Partnership – Announcement, June 14 – 2022

The formation of the Minerals Security Partnership (MSP) was announced last week at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada convention in Toronto.

The Minerals Security Partnership’s main objective is to ‘catalyze investment from governments and the private sector for strategic opportunities —across the full value chain —that adhere to the highest environmental, social, and governance standard’

The partnership includes Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Commission.

GreenMet is encouraged by the new partnership and is actively working to bring more critical mineral resource projects into production. As green technologies – such as batteries and magnets – grow in importance and relevance to our clean energy future, it is imperative that countries ensure a steady supply of critical minerals around the globe.

We look forward to working with members of the MSP to de-risk critical mineral supply chain projects both domestically and globally while ensuring project development complies with sustainable and responsible business standards.
