Washington, D.C. — August 31, 2026 — Greentech Mineral Holdings, Inc. (“GreenMet”) and INSTED USA (“INSTED”) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishing a strategic collaboration to advance investment, trade, energy, mining, and sustainable economic development opportunities across Africa.
The agreement is designed to connect qualified African opportunities with U.S. capital, strategic investors, industrial partners, technology, and commercial markets, creating new pathways for investment and productive economic activity. Through the collaboration, GreenMet and INSTED USA seek to support economic growth, job creation, industrial development, and long-term poverty reduction across African markets.
The parties intend to cooperate in identifying and advancing opportunities across several strategic sectors, including:
- Energy and energy infrastructure
- Mining and critical minerals
- Industrial and manufacturing development
- Infrastructure and other strategic sectors
- U.S.-Africa trade and investment
- Strategic commercial partnerships and offtake
Under the MOU, GreenMet will leverage its U.S. relationships and expertise in investment, strategic development, trade, energy, mining, and commercial development to connect qualified African opportunities with appropriate investors, strategic partners, industrial participants, and commercial markets. INSTED will support the identification and advancement of qualified opportunities and relationships across African markets.
A key component of the collaboration is the development of integrated U.S.-Africa critical mineral supply chains while creating greater economic value within African markets. The parties recognize that responsible resource development can support local capabilities, create employment, strengthen industries, and contribute to sustainable economic growth. GreenMet enables a percentage of processing to be executed locally to support training and build local capability.
Where commercially and technically appropriate, the parties intend for the GreenMet-associated critical minerals processing facility at the Greenbrier Smokeless Coal site in Rupert, West Virginia, to serve as the primary U.S. processing location for qualifying critical mineral and mineral feedstocks sourced from African projects pursued through the collaboration.
This approach is intended to develop local capabilities in Africa, create a direct pathway from African resource development to U.S.-based processing, value-added production, and commercial markets, supporting integrated U.S.-Africa supply chains and increasing the value created through the responsible development of African resources.
“GreenMet believes that the next generation of U.S.-Africa economic relationships should be built around investment, trade, productive enterprise, and shared commercial opportunity,” said Drew Horn, Founder and CEO of GreenMet. “Our collaboration with INSTED creates a framework to connect high-quality opportunities across Africa with U.S. investors, industrial partners, processing capabilities, and markets. The goal is not simply to move resources, but to build productive economic activity that creates jobs, develops local capabilities, strengthens supply chains, and contributes to lasting economic opportunity and poverty reduction.”
“INSTED is committed to advancing economic opportunity across Africa by helping connect African resources, entrepreneurs, and businesses with global markets,” said Adu Opoku-Boahin, CEO of INSTED USA. “This MOU with GreenMet provides a practical framework for bringing together African opportunities and U.S. investment, expertise, technology, and commercial partnerships. We see significant potential to support industrial development, strengthen local capabilities, create jobs, and build sustainable economic opportunities that can help address poverty while strengthening the commercial relationship between Africa and the United States.”
GreenMet and INSTED USA share a commitment to free markets, private enterprise, entrepreneurship, investment, and mutually beneficial trade. The parties believe that durable solutions to poverty are supported by productive economic activity, sustainable employment, investment, and economic growth.
Through their collaboration, the parties intend to help identify commercially viable opportunities that create lasting value for African economies while providing compelling opportunities for U.S. investment and participation. By connecting African resources and capabilities with U.S. investors, commercial partners, and offtakers, GreenMet and INSTED aim to support stronger industries, expanded trade, job creation, and long-term economic development while contributing to sustainable pathways for poverty reduction.
