FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Attending alongside ElfassiGroup, an international family office and strategic African development and investment partner, and other industry partners, GreenMet will focus on investment, value-added processing, energy and infrastructure, and long-term U.S.–Africa commercial cooperation
WASHINGTON, D.C. — November 6, 2026 — GreenMet, a Washington, D.C.-based critical minerals strategy and development firm, today announced that its leadership, including Founder and CEO Drew Horn, will attend the ninth edition of the Paris Peace Forum, taking place November 10–11, 2026, at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris. GreenMet will attend alongside ElfassiGroup, an international family office and strategic African development and investment partner, and other industry partners.
Held this year under the theme “From Sovereignty to Cooperation,” the Paris Peace Forum convenes heads of state and government, ministers, international organizations, businesses and civil society from around the world. Over the two days, GreenMet’s delegation will meet directly with African leaders and senior officials to discuss how mineral-producing nations can capture greater value from their resources through partnerships with U.S. companies, investors and institutions.
The Forum has also become a leading venue for global dialogue on critical minerals. In 2023 it launched the Global Council for Responsible Transition Minerals, an independent, high-level group focused on responsible supply chains and on expanding economic opportunity for mineral-rich countries.
For GreenMet, securing critical minerals is only part of the equation. Turning mineral wealth into lasting economic growth requires reliable power, modern transport corridors, ports and local processing capacity, which many resource-rich African nations are working to build. GreenMet sees a significant opportunity for U.S. capital, technology and engineering expertise to play a larger role in that effort, and for African governments to shape partnerships on terms that serve their own national development priorities.
GreenMet’s discussions will center on:
- Commercial partnerships linking African producers with U.S. industry across mining, processing and offtake
- Investment and project finance to develop resources responsibly and build value-added capacity in producing countries
- Stronger U.S.–Africa relationships, including helping governments clearly communicate their priorities to U.S. policymakers, investors and industry
- Reliable supply chains for manganese, rare earths and other critical minerals that serve both producing nations and allied markets
- Energy and power generation, including grid, generation and off-grid solutions needed to support mining, processing and broader industrial growth
- Infrastructure and logistics, from rail and road corridors to ports and export terminals that connect mines to global markets
- Local capacity and workforce development, supporting training, technology transfer and local participation across the value chain
“Africa holds many of the minerals the world will rely on for the next generation of energy, defense and technology, and African nations rightly want partners who will help them build lasting value at home, not simply export raw material,” said Drew Horn, Founder and CEO of GreenMet. “This year’s theme, moving from sovereignty to cooperation, captures what we hear from leaders across the continent: they want to protect their national interests while building deeper, more productive ties with the United States. We’re going to Paris to listen, and to explore how we can help turn shared interests into durable partnerships.”
Horn noted that successful resource development depends on bringing the full set of capabilities together. “No mine succeeds on its own. It needs power, it needs a reliable route to market, and it needs financing partners who understand the risk,” he said. “Our role is to help connect the pieces, linking governments and project owners with the right U.S. partners across minerals, energy and infrastructure so that projects actually get built and deliver for the communities around them.”
GreenMet will attend the Forum together with ElfassiGroup (EFG), an international family office and strategic African development and investment partner with established relationships and commercial interests across Morocco, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the broader African continent. EFG will play an important role in facilitating the delegation’s engagement with African governments and key stakeholders, drawing on its regional presence, institutional relationships and experience connecting international investment and commercial interests with strategic development priorities.
“Morocco has long served as a bridge between Africa, Europe and the United States, and those connections are increasingly important as African nations pursue greater investment and industrial development,” said Adam El Fassi, Founder, President and CEO of ElfassiGroup. “Our relationships across these markets give us a strong understanding of the priorities governments are focused on and the partnerships needed to move them forward. Working alongside GreenMet and our U.S. partners, we see significant opportunities to bring together capital, technology and industry across critical minerals, energy, infrastructure and healthcare in ways that create lasting economic value.”
Horn previously served as a senior U.S. official on strategic minerals and energy supply chains, with leadership roles at the White House, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the Departments of Energy and Defense. Under his leadership, GreenMet advises mining companies, investors and governments on strategy, financing and partnerships across the critical minerals value chain, and is developing a critical minerals processing hub in Greenbrier County, West Virginia.
