FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, DC — GreenMet is excited to announce that CEO Drew Horn will be aboard the inaugural United Airlines direct flight from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Nuuk, Greenland, departing June 14.
This historic flight represents a major step forward in building stronger ties between the United States and Greenland. It also marks a new era of accessibility for Greenland, one that is expected to expand tourism, foster cultural exchange, and stimulate local economic growth.
Drew Horn, who has long admired Greenland’s culture, history, and natural beauty, sees the flight as more than a transportation milestone. It is an opportunity to celebrate the deepening relationship between the two regions. While GreenMet continues to be actively engaged in Greenland’s critical minerals sector, Horn is using this trip as a rare chance for a family vacation. He looks forward to stepping away from the boardroom to enjoy boating, fishing, and exploring the breathtaking Greenlandic landscape.
“This new direct route is not only exciting for travelers, but it also reflects the growing connection between Greenland and the United States,” said Horn. “I am honored to be part of this inaugural flight and look forward to many more in the years to come. It is a privilege to witness the start of what will be a stronger, more collaborative future.”
By reducing the travel barrier between the two regions, this new route will create significant opportunities for expanded cooperation. In addition to tourism, it is expected to support efforts in sustainable development, investment, research, and innovation. The flight will also make it easier for U.S.-based companies and institutions to connect with Greenlandic communities and stakeholders in more meaningful ways.
GreenMet and its partners are enthusiastic about the opportunities this new air link will help unlock. Easier access will allow for more frequent engagement on the ground, stronger partnerships, and increased momentum behind shared goals in economic development, environmental stewardship, and energy security.
