FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, D.C. – May 13, 2025 — GreenMet CEO Drew Horn has returned from an extensive and highly productive visit to Greenland and Denmark, where he engaged with senior government officials, business leaders, and local communities to deepen ties and expand dialogue around responsible investment in Greenland’s strategic mineral resources. The trip marks a milestone in GreenMet’s mission to foster secure, sustainable, and collaborative supply chains for critical materials essential to the energy transition, technological innovation, and national security.

Throughout the visit, Horn reinforced GreenMet’s commitment to building partnerships that respect local values, regulatory frameworks, and environmental priorities. “U.S. investment in Greenland is a private business matter that should not be disrupted or sidelined by political noise,” said Horn in remarks shared with local media. “What we heard in Greenland was simple and direct: they are open for business—as long as their regulations are respected and local communities are treated as true partners. That is exactly how GreenMet operates.”
A key highlight of the trip was a visit to the Tanbreez mine in southern Greenland, one of the most significant rare earth element (REE) deposits in the world, and GreenMet strategic partner. The site contains vast quantities of eudialyte, a unique mineral with an exceptionally high concentration of gallium, a critical element used in advanced semiconductors, telecommunications, and defense technologies. Horn noted that the scale and composition of the deposit underscore Greenland’s potential to become a pivotal player in the global critical minerals landscape.
In the capital city of Nuuk, GreenMet held high-level meetings with both Greenlandic and Danish officials. These discussions centered on how private sector engagement from the United States can support economic development, workforce training, infrastructure investment, and long-term capacity-building in Greenland. The tone of the meetings was described as forward-looking, constructive, and aligned with a shared vision for sustainable growth.
Beyond business, the trip offered GreenMet a chance to experience Greenland’s breathtaking natural environment and the warmth of its people. From the coastal mountains of the south to the cultural richness of Nuuk, the visit served as a powerful reminder of what makes Greenland unique—not just its resources, but its resilient and welcoming communities.
The trip reaffirmed GreenMet’s long-term commitment to the region and its vision for building enduring, responsible partnerships grounded in mutual respect and benefit. The company looks forward to continuing its engagement, supporting community-first development, and playing a key role in helping Greenland realize its potential as a leading source of critical minerals for the world.
